Paintstiks and Fabric – the Perfect Cure for a Cold Winter Day!
The past few weeks have been really cold – even by Minnesota standards. Brrrrr!!! My cure for cold weather is to gather some beautiful fabric, a few paintstiks, and a bunch of freezer paper to "make a little magic." I'm currently working on a queen size quilt and other samples that will be featured in my upcoming book titled Design Magic for Paintstiks on Fabric.
Now I have to admit that I haven't made a bed-size quilt in 10 years. (Just long enough to totally forget how big they are and how long it takes to put them together!) I love choosing the fabric. I love creating the stencil designs and painting the blocks. I just don't love the part about sewing a bazillion pieces together to make a really big quilt. Ah well, I'll soon have it all together and ready to send off to my friend Mary for quilting. Then it will be time to snuggle up with my computer and put the finishing touches on the book and get it off to the printer.
If you're looking for some ideas to play with while you hibernate from the cold, check out the new additions to our website. We have two video clips on the Learning Center page, and a bunch of fabulous ideas for Playing with Stencils on the blog. Check out the details below.
